Si pudiera vivir nuevamente mi vida.
En la próxima trataría de cometer más errores.
No intentaría ser tan perfecto, me relajaría más.

Yo fui una de esas personas que vivió sensata

si pudiera volver a vivir, viajaría más liviano.

Si pudiera vivir nuevamente
comenzaría a andar descalzo a principios
de la primavera
y seguiría descalzo hasta concluir el otoño.
Daría más vueltas en calesita,
contemplaría más amaneceres,
y jugaría con más niños,
si tuviera otra vez vida por delante.
Pero ya ven, tengo 85 años y sé
que me estoy muriendo.

The Author of Instantes (Moments)
The authorship of the poem Instantes has been widely attributed to the great Argentine writer, Jorge Luis Borges. There is, however, significant controversy about the true origen of this poem. The Jorge Luis Borges Center for Studies and Documentation at the Univerity of Aarhus, Denmark confirmed that the author is not Borges.

The important issue at hand is the conditional tense and the past subjunctive in si clauses, not on the author of the poem. The poem has value – whether it was composed by Borges or not. Borges could be any 85 year old man or woman reflecting on life. In that spirit, I hope that you will enjoy contributing your own thoughts in the actividad de reflexiones.
